Mary Alayne B. Long, also known as The Alabama Housewife,

is a modern-day Southern comedian, storyteller, writer and cultural commentator rooted deeply in the traditions, flavors and character of the American South.

Whether she's recounting a childhood memory, reflecting on her family's

unpredictible adventures or highlighting the people and places that define the South her voice is genuine--steeped in home, hospitality and homegrown wisdom.

Her work aims to connect people to what is familiar yet often unrecognized:

Southern Hospitality, regional foodways, the rhythms of small towns

and the bonds of family. 

She's sure to give you a lot to laugh about (and maybe something to think about) regardless of the place you call home.

Mary Alayne also enjoys selling real estate all along the Beautiful Emerald Coast.

She and her husband live in Point Washington, Florida

but will always claim Alabama as their home sweet home.
